Candidate Requirement


Profile	• Must hold a Degree • Experience of working in a multi-cultural environment. • 10-15 years of experience in strategic planning, development, implementation and maintenance of large-scale integrated systems across multiple hardware and software platforms. • At least 5 years of experience in managing a complex technical infrastructure. • At least 10 years experience of managing large teams (20-30). • Demonstrated success in developing and implementing new technologies and work processes. • Demonstrated competency in strategic thinking and leadership with strong abilities in relationship management • Experience of leading multi-discipline, high-performance work teams • Demonstrated competency in developing efficient and effective solutions to diverse and complex problems • Demonstrated high competency in project management and the execution of multiple or large projects • Experience of managing a 24x7 mission critical environment. • Extensive experience/expertise in directing large, complex application development/systems implementation projects and delivering projects within schedule and budget. • Extensive experience/expertise in and knowledge of project management practices, including experience in controlling multiple projects within rigorous quality management standards (practitioner’s knowledge of PRINCE2 methodology, or the ability to rapidly acquire knowledge, is necessary). • Extensive experience in managing large project teams, including vendor staff and other contractors • Ability to motivate staff to work effectively, under pressure, for protracted periods. • Demonstrated high level of ability in preparing and presenting reports of a substantial nature to senior management level. • Ability to consult, negotiate and report to management on a regular basis, including significant liaison with senior business management and senior executives. • Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary management team, in accordance with defined quality management practices, to achieve common objectives Education • Graduate degree in Business or Management; Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline with an IT focus, or equivalent work experience is required. Performance Appraisal Frequency • 180 days for new hires/position, every 12 months thereafter Responsibilities • Review and approval key project baseline deliverables in accordance with agreed baseline and quality management processes, specifically relating to: • RFIs and resultant contracts with external suppliers • High level business requirements • Project Initiation Documents • Other key project strategies/plans • Monitor all key projects on a regular basis, providing summary reports to departmental management to agreed standards. • Liaise with business area management to ensure that projects integrate with other systems/initiatives and support current business strategies. • Manage project resources. • Review and recommend all project change requests in accordance with departmental processes and procedures; ensuring that intra and inter-project impacts are assessed and validated. • Ensure that project transition and handover activities are planned, documented and implemented effectively; with particular emphasis on risk mitigation and maximizing potential for business benefits realization. • Rigorously implement and maintain agreed project control practices across all projects in accordance with agreed standards. • Direct and motivate the project leaders/managers to maximize potential for successful project delivery. • Responsible for the support of the Organizations IT applications. • Assist in the development and implementation of an IT Strategy in support of the organizations strategic business requirements and technology objectives. • Implement and maintain Service Level Management processes within the Organization. • Identify and implement appropriate methodologies, standards and best practices e.g. Prince2. • Establishing good customer relationships. • Ensure all aspects of projects are delivered on time & within budget through management of staff & resources. • Provision of Disaster Recovery capabilities for all applications. • Manage external vendors so that they provide high quality services at competitive prices. Ensure formal contracts are in place for all vendors and that the contracts contain detailed SLAs. • Providing management and direction to support teams. • Drive the development of enterprise technology standards to ensure compatibility and integration (eg. Multi-vendor platforms) throughout the organization. • Develop budgets for the Application Services department ensuring the department has adequate resources to meet its objectives within agreed financial parameters. • Management of Application Services staff covering the following areas: o Recruitment o Career development o Skills development o Work scheduling • Stay current in new technologies and platforms. • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, in accordance with defined quality management practices, to achieve common objectives.
